HERO MENTOR PROGRAM
HERO- Help, Encourage, Reach, and Overcome
Our HERO mentorship program focuses on the future leaders of America-our children, teens, and young adults who have been abused, bullied, have endured trauma, are living with a mental illness such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-harm, and suicidal ideations.
Our program vision is to set up the ones in need with a HERO mentor. The two matches will spend quality time together doing activities such as bowling, grabbing lunch, hiking, fishing and more, while talking about their day to day life struggles. We believe that this allows kids and young adults to gain the trust of their HERO mentor and allows them to open up about their struggles. Although our mentors are not counselors, they have life experiences that may offer advice to
Help, Encourage, Reach, and Overcome.
*All of our HERO volunteers must undergo and pass a federal finger print background check to ensure the safety of the participants of our program. If our mentors feel that the child is at risk or in danger at any point in time, they are committed to contacting the proper authorities. *Mentors must commit a minimum of 6 months or longer to the program.
